As a survival guide for homeschooling your child in this CRAZY day and age, I know that some of you might not be all that excited about this at all. Personally, I was also very skeptical when I first heard of the “equipment free school” concept. You can imagine my shock when I discovered just how much it actually worked. Now, I cannot think of anything that I would not recommend to anyone who is thinking of home schooling their children in this day and age.

First off, I want to bring up a big picture here. There are many parents who have looked at home schooling and have decided to home school their children in an effort to avoid all the social problems that exist in public schools. They feel that by home schooling their children, they will avoid all the issues that exist with them in public schools. And that is a huge argument, and I don’t doubt their passion or love for their children.

Here is what I recommend to you as a parent or guardian, if you are thinking about home schooling your own children. The first piece of survival tips for home school parents is to make sure that you prepare as much as possible before the start of the school year. This means preparing books, different educational materials (like flashcards), different skills sets, and a lot more. There are lots of great resources available online, and this might cost a little bit of money, but it will be worth it, I promise.

Another thing I would like to go over with you is getting help from someone who is more than just a teacher. You need to get some real life experience to help you along with the learning curve of home schooling. You could find someone who is an actual homeschool teacher to help you out as well, which would be a real plus. This would be the absolute best survival tips for home school parents, because you are getting real life help that will really help you along.

This brings me up to my last tip for you. If you are struggling in any way with anything at all, the Internet is a powerful resource to help you out. This doesn’t mean that you should just Google the term “homework” and have all sorts of random information pop up. What you are looking for is actual, practical help that you can actually use. There are a ton of great websites out there that offer homework help, and they are free.

I know a lot of people who homeschool their children, and I know a lot of people who have struggled. When I get an email from someone who is in the same boat, I always feel motivated to help them out. These Survival Tips for Home School Parents will get you through the hard times, so don’t let them wear you down!

Last but not least, one of the best survival tips for home school parents is to get support from others. This might not be as much in terms of actual advice, as it is advice on how to deal with what is going on. Help is definitely necessary, and some great places to get help are forums, message boards, and blogs, just to name a few. There is no shame in getting help in any way, and getting the extra guidance can really make a difference.

As you can see, the best way to deal with this situation is to arm yourself with as much knowledge as you can. You can further your studies by using your school’s library (assuming they have one! ), and you can also take classes online. The bottom line is that you get more done when you are prepared. That is the number one reason I homeschool, so I’m well aware of that. Now go out there and prepare yourself, because I sure hope you do!
