Any serious gas mask should have a gas mask or air filter system. We don’t know what might happen, but breathing despite the chemicals and radiation seems like a good idea. CBRN certified gas masks can do just that.
Each person must first analyze what they are preparing for. Make sure the risk to your family justifies the purchase of a gas mask. If this is the case, it is best to find out as much as you can about it.

The other gas masks are not listed here in any particular order, but last year the MIRA CM-7M topped most lists. While some still prefer the design of its predecessor 6M, small differences can give it an edge.
Both models have similar features, such as built-in Camelbaks water compatibility and dual filter ports, but a big difference is the optical aspect. From the outside, it looks like the 6M is better because of the better field of view.
On closer inspection, however, the Mira Saftey 7M gas mask sacrifices 25% of its range to allow the wearer better depth perception and tactical deployment. The 7M is designed for use with rifles and optics. So if you plan to use it with a gas mask, it’s a good choice.
MIRA Security CM-6M CBRN
MIRA CM-6M Tactical gas mask – Full face mask for CBRN protection
As mentioned earlier, the Mira Safety CM-6M has largely the same features as the new model gas mask. However, he is still good enough to be on that list and deserves a second look.
The tactical use here is less well thought out, but the seals, dual filter and wide field of view make the MIRA CM-6M a fantastic second choice. The 6-M also has room in the goggle mask, which is always a good thing.
Both models also have an excellent price-performance ratio, making them among the best-selling gas masks.

3M FR-7800B CBRN
Like many others on this list, the 3M 7800B gas mask has a built-in speech diaphragm, making it ideal for first responders or other communication needs. It is specifically designed for members of emergency response teams.
The result: The 7800B filters out most airborne toxic gases and hazards, while the front panel is high impact. This mask also comes in 3 sizes, which is a smart layout.
Avon FM12 CBRN
In America and Europe, the Avon FM12 is one of the most widely used masks on the market. This mask is equipped with an easy to find 40 mm filter and has many attractive features.
With 3 possible sizes and a 6-point harness for a perfect fit, the FM-12 is designed for active users. In addition, the frame is ideal for tactical use and precise aiming.
Fertilizer SBU 400/3 BB CBRN
Chances are, the masks worn by the IDF are for sure. The shockproof exterior offers great utility.
Three filter ports, drinking water compatibility and a wide viewing angle make the 400/3 BB a good choice. If you decide to go for it, make sure you choose the 400/3 BB.
The previous model, the SBU 400/3, had a rubber gasket that did not work against all chemicals.
The
Avon M50 CBRN
Like Mestel in Israel, the Avon M50 is the standard model for the US Army. Of course, choosing the M50 for military use means that it is robust, with an impact-resistant faceplate and durable seals.
But the M50 differs in two ways: It makes communication easier because you can hear every word someone says while wearing the mask, and the built-in straw allows you to drink from the bottle or Camelbak without taking the mask off.
The main drawback of the M50 is that it uses its own filter, making it difficult to find a replacement filter, as the most common filter is a 40mm filter.
MSA Millenium CBRN
MSA Safety is one of the biggest names in gas masks and since its introduction in 2004, they have proven why. It was the first mask to be certified as a CBRN face mask.
It may have been the first, but the Millenium has a large front panel, a rubber gasket, and the ability to change the side of the filter. The latter is especially useful if you dominate right or left.
Dragar 4500 CBRN
Like the M50, the Draegar 4500 uses 40 mm filters with a wide field of view. It’s one of the few masks that allows you to use peripheral vision, it’s as wide as that.
Like the M50, the Draegar is designed for firearms use. The style allows you to rest the stock of the rifle.
One big difference is that Dragar is universal, from adult men and women to children 12 and older.
PD-100

The PD-100 is convenient and has most of the features of the other masks on this list, including dual filters, but has two major drawbacks: It is not yet CBRN certified and is not suitable for protective eyewear.
However, if you don’t need it to use heavy chemicals, it’s a good choice for the price.
Dragar 6300
As an honorable mention, the Draegar 6300 is a competitor to the rest of the list in terms of performance. Actually, it’s about the same as Dragar’s 4500.
However, the rubber gasket is the biggest difference between the two models, and because of this problem the 6300 was not CBRN certified. Still, it deserves to be on that list as a good option.
Completion
Remember to keep your mask or masks close to the bag you keep your weapons in. To maintain the mask, wash the filter cartridges and mask with soapy water and rinse. While lens cloths work well with glass, many masks are reinforced with plastic and are colored.
With the mask you have chosen, the best way to prepare is to practice. Gas masks can cause claustrophobia, and some people hyperventilate because they think they can’t breathe the same way. So make sure you wear a mask for a while and feel comfortable with the feeling.
You don’t want to panic and accidentally remove your mask in a dangerous situation, so being able to relax with your mask on is key to survival. Remember that you can breathe and, in most cases, communicate both inside and outside the mask.
