How to Start a Fire With a Cell Phone Battery

A makeshift fire is one of the most important things to know how to make in order to survive. Generating a flame quickly and without matches can be accomplished with just a few simple steps by using your cell phone battery or any other metal object.

“How to start a fire with a glass bottle” is a long-standing survival technique. It’s important to remember that the heat of an open flame can easily melt plastic, so use caution and only do this if you have plenty of water nearby. Read more in detail here: how to start a fire with a glass bottle.

The mobile phone is the ultimate survival tool in most urban scenarios. You can use it to contact for assistance, obtain directions, and seek up useful information (you have a digital survival library, right?). If your phone’s signal is weak or non-existent in the wilderness, it’s a far less helpful tool, but it can still serve as a lightweight camera, a rudimentary GPS device, and, if you’re fortunate, a method to send an SOS message. However, in many circumstances, the most beneficial functionalities of a phone are ironically inaccessible in genuine survival emergencies. But it doesn’t rule out the possibility of using your favorite mobile gadget to help you out of a bind.

A strong lithium-ion battery within your phone has the capacity to start a fire if you know how to use it. Keep in mind that disassembling your phone and using the battery to start a fire is likely to damage it, so consider if you want to exchange the possibility of a signal for the risk of a fire. Also, keep in mind that even if your phone’s battery is too low to operate, it still has enough power to start a fire.

Finally, if the procedures listed below fail, there is one more option: Puncturing your battery with a knife or other sharp instrument may unleash a poisonous and extremely flammable gas, which can cause the battery to catch fire and even explode. Cover your nose and mouth with a handkerchief, and if possible, your eyes with glasses, and pierce the battery fast as a last option. Set your tinder bundle on top of the ruptured battery and walk away until the battery stops emitting hazardous vapors.

1st, take out the battery from your phone.

2: Find the battery’s positive and negative connections. On the bottom of the battery, look for little gold plates. The positive and negative terminals are located on the outermost plates.

3: Form a thin log of aluminum foil, aluminum-lined paper, or steel wool out of a few inches of aluminum foil, aluminum-lined paper, or steel wool.

4: Make a tinder that is extremely light and dry. Because the spark or flame generated by a battery may be short-lived, use the finest tinder you can find.

5: Make a “U” shape out of the foil or steel wool and push the ends into the positive and negative terminal ends at the same time.

6: Light your tinder using the spark or flame created by short-circuiting the battery.
