Workout for Carrying to Safety
We’ll concentrate on “Cleans” for lifting power since it’s one of the finest workouts for developing explosive, athletic power. We’ll be working with fewer repetitions and a longer rest time between sets.
This week, we’ll tackle a very difficult challenge exercise to improve our strength, muscle endurance, and mental fortitude. We’ll concentrate on lower body workouts since our legs provide the majority of our lifting power. However, we’ll include some pulling and pushing exercises to assist us in lifting and carrying the sufferer.
Complete each exercise for the prescribed repetitions while taking the shortest possible rest periods for the challenge session.

Use these weights as a starting point if you wish to continue improving. However, if you aren’t failing at least 2-3 times every exercise, you should increase the weight.
- 65 lb, 95 lb, 155 lb cleans
- 20 lb, 40 lb, 80 lb Farmer’s Walk
- 45 pounds, 65 lbs, 95 lbs Lumberjack Press
- 45 pound front squat, 95 pound front squat, 135 pound front squat
- 45 pounds, 65 lbs, 135 lbs Upright Row
- 45 pounds, 95 lbs, 135 lbs Lunge Walk
Techniques and Exercise Tips
1. Cleans
Lift the weight using your legs, maintaining it close to your torso the whole time. Drop below the weight as it approaches chest height and finish with a front squat.
2. Rowing Upright
Use a bigger weight, but make sure your legs are involved in the lift. With this workout, we wish to increase our strength. Treat it as though it were a clean lift minus the last step.
3. Take a Lunge Walk
For this exercise, use a lesser weight and concentrate on technique. The bulk of your weight should be supported by your front foot. Ensure that your knees, chest, and head do not extend beyond your front toe. Keep your weight centered on your front foot’s heel. This shifts the strain away from your knees and onto your hips, which are much more able to carry the load without harm.
4. Squat in the front
Ensure that your chest, knees, and head do not extend beyond your toes. Maintain the bulk of your weight on your heel as well. During the lift, maintain your chest parallel to the wall in front of you and stick your butt out. This shifts the strain away from your lower back and onto your quadriceps and hips.
5. Squat Hack
The hack squat follows the same guidelines as the front squat. With the weight on your back, you want to sit back. It may be difficult to balance at first, and you may scratch the backs of your legs, but it’s an excellent workout for strengthening your quadriceps.
Before increasing any weight, start with a low weight and improve on your technique.
